Picking up a Penny

Yesterday morning, I was texting with the owners of Ruby2Be's parents, and was told the puppies were ready to leave. Hugh was up for it so we piled the kids in the van, and headed for Sultan. After the mandatory stop in Leavenworth for luhnch, we arrived in Sultan around 2:30 to pick up our new prize...Ruby's younger sister, who was born April 2nd.
Before we arrived home, we had sifted through a bunch of names and settled on Penny. She is the color of a tarnished penny. May favorite thing about her is those big floppy ears.

Did ya Miss me??

I won't bore anyone with excuses for not posting, but when I discovered my Daughters plethora of recent posts, I was compelled to speak up! Life here continues to be great. I, for one, really enjoyed the winter. I am looking forward to the next one, especially since it looks like we'll have a lot of additional square footage come this winter. We are buying a double wide, and when we connect that to the exisiting house (Okie style) we will have 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and about 2600 square feet. I can't even tell you how excited I am to have my own (our own) bedroom again!!!! We never did move back out to the bus, so that has become the "office". All the kids will again have their own room. The gratitude we feel towards this new provision is indescribable.

Some highlights of the past month or so..... We had a brush fire in the garden and it was so huge that someone on highway 97 thought it was a house burning down and called the trusty Tonasket FD. They came and asked for an invite next time.

This is Sunday. She is half black German Shepherd, half Yellow lab. She is going to be bussies with Ruby-Two-be who arrives THURSDAY!!
The garden is plowed up and ready for planting, nearly double in size from last year. Pics to follow.
Levi came to visit TWICE since I last posted. It was great to see him and we had a blast the first time. The second time was a mid-week visit, so it was a bit slow for my city boy, but it was still fun for me.
